Are You Feeling Lucky? 🍀

People are always saying, “You are so lucky“ or “I never win anything”. Well, I’m here to tell you, it can happen and it doesn’t always have to cost anything either.

Anyone who knows me knows I live and breathe football and Liverpool FC is on the top of that list. I get up on the weekends during the season to watch my team play no matter the time of day. I’ve been known to drive 2.5 hours just to meet up with other supporters at 4:30 am to cheer on our Mighty Reds!

This is a special club and there are fans all over the world that have been bitten by this same bug! So last May I was scrolling through twitter and came across this post.

I thought to myself, “Another competition, what is it for this time?” An opportunity to win the 2019-20 home shirt and all you had to do was retweet and follow them, which I already do, to enter. So of course, I retweeted it and never thought much more of it.

The competition originated in Ireland and I live in California. The time difference is 8 hours. Five days later, I woke up to loads of messages on my phone from people all over the world congratulating me. I couldn’t believe it, I’d actually won.

Four months of correspondence back and forth, the shirts being sold out, the sponsor backing out of its original agreement and a lost package from DHL, I finally received my shirt on Friday. The person behind the twitter handle @theirishkop kept their word and came through! They had it shipped directly to my home and paid for it out of their own money because their sponsor would not follow through as promised.

So now I’m a proud owner of a new ladies' home shirt and I want to share my joy with all of you. I also want to personally thank (the person behind) @theirishkop for making my weekend without Liverpool FC a great one! The saying is true, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

So, if you ever see a giveaway or competition on social media and think YOU will never win, I’m proof, you really do!! You should TAKE advantage of opportunities like this. Don’t let it slip you bye.
